Lillian Trager (1947-2006) was a tenured anthropology professor and the chair of the sociology-anthropology department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.  She spent much of her doctoral and professional career studying the Yoruba people in Ijesaland, Nigeria.  She recorded her work on the market places, community development, and hometown ties through photographs, field notes, videotapes, and audiotapes.  Her findings were published in 2001 in her book, Yoruba Hometowns: Community, Identity, and Development in Nigeria.  This collection was donated by her husband Dick Ammann in August of 2014.
