Documenting COVID-19 at UW-Parkside

As UW-Parkside entered the spring semester in January 2020, reports of severe respiratory complications from a novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in China caught the attention of the world at large and our campus community. Cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) spread rapidly, evolving into a pandemic.

As concerns escalated, UW-Parkside began preparing for the impact on campus by planning how to deliver courses online or via alternative methods, and to continue supporting students.

On March 17, Chancellor Debbie Ford announced that face-to-face instruction would be discontinued for the remainder of the spring semester, on-campus staff would be limited, and students living in campus housing were to go home.

The UWP Archives is working to document this unprecedented time in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.
