Phil Freund
Phil Freund describes the hardships his family faced at the beginning of the war. He explains the Racial Laws and how they limited Jewish people and how they lost a loved one due to them.
He was a part of many of the families trying to escape to America during the beginning of the racial injustice and had gotten turned away at the port. He talks about his family's experience in England when the war broke out and how they were treated.
Phil Freund speaks to UW-Parkside students on April 23, 2008
