Daniel Klapproth World War II Photographs and Letters
Daniel Klapproth was a soldier and a Somers, Wisconsin native who was stationed in Panama during the Second World War. This collection consists of photographs taken by Daniel during his military service, as well as letters written by Daniel to his mother in Wisconsin.
Daniel's photographs reveal a first-hand look at the lives of American soldiers in Panama in the 1940s, while his letters provide insight into the mind of a young Wisconsinite experiencing foreign lands and cultures for the first time. This collection was donated to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Archives and Area Research Center by Jacqueline Klapproth Nelson in 2018.
