He switched to the tru mpet the following year. Sorensen later served in the u.s. Navy Music Program where he earned two Navy Achievement Medals for his work as a band leader, conductor, and drum major. He has played with the symphony orchestras of Kenosha and Racine, the Concord Chamber Orchestra, the Milwaukee Choristers, and the Kenosha Pops Band.
