In the Fall Convocation, Lamb stated his goals for UW-P. First, to turn the enrollment around and establish new parameters and proce- dures for recruiting and retaining students. Along with that, implemenl.the strategic plan so that we may use the impetus from our planning to project the University's position into the next several years. As well as, work to establish or reestablish where necessary, a strong presence in the community. The former president of Northeastern Illinois University, Gordon Lamb, has been named interim chancellor. Lamb Lamb has replaced Eleanor 1. sm ith, who retired in May after three years as chancellor of the University of Wisconsin- Parks ide. Lamb was president of Northeastern Illinois University, an institution with 7,400 undergrad- uate and 2,800 graduate students from 1986- 1995. While at the Chicago institution Lamb began a technology development program, Student written and directed play, Still Haven't Found ... to be performed AMANDA BULGRIN EDITOR-IN-CHIEF The University of Wisconsin-Parkside will be graced with two student productions beginning Thursday, September II. Still Haven't Found ... and Minnesota Moon will be held at 7:30 on September II and 12, with a 2 p.m. production on the 13th. The perfor- mances will be held in the Studio Theatre, located in the lower level of the Communication Arts Building. Admission is $3 and donations will be accepted for the Dramatic Arts Scholarship fund. Still Haven't Found .., written by Matty Winkler and directed by Hank Hilbert, both Parkside students, is a series of short scenes that deals with life's questions. Minnesota . Moon, .written by John Olive and starring the director and playwright of Still Haven't Found, is the story of two friends spending one last evening in a cornfield of southern Minnesota in 1968. "The theme of both plays center around life questions, everyone can relate to some aspect of these two plays," stated director Hilbert. Playwright Many Winkler added, "The Studio Theatre location provides the audience R with the ability to be close enough to touch the actors, feel their pain and experience their joy." There is never a dull moment in the two performances being presented. They provide the audience with the chance to let go; think. Still Haven't Found ...is the perfect combina- tion of humor and sadness, pain and joy. After viewing, the audience walks away feel- ing emotions of every sense. For people who are intimidated by the the- atre or reluctant to give it a chance, Still Haven't Found ...and Minnesota Moon are the ideal, innocent introduction. This weeks volunteer is Heather Wittenberg. Heather Wittenberg is a senior majoring in Business/MIS. Two years ago Heather responded to a computer entry request from St. Catherine's Hospital Volunteer Coordinator in Kenosha via the Parks ide Volunteer Program. Fifty hours plus and three volunteer coordinators later, Heather is still volun- teering at the hospital.
