Gary
Blevins
motioned
to
start
the
impeachment
process.
A four
paragraph
memo
entitled

Movement"
was
handed
out
by
Blevins.
The
memo
begins,
"We
the
Student
Senate
at
the
UW-Parkside
gather
together
today
to
handle
business
that
I
am
quite
sure
none
of
us
ever
thought
we
would
have
to
con-
duct."

Senator
Williams
said,
"If
you
[the
sen-
ate]
truly
represent
the
student
body
then
you
should
find
offense
in
this
issue
[Towle's
action]."
Ginger
Helgeson,
from
the
Women's
Center
relayed,
"I
was
really
surprised
that
this happened
here.
I think
the
impeachment
is
the
right
procedure;
but
even
with
an
impeachment
I would
hope
that
senate
members
would
want
to
become
more
educated
in
gay
and
lesbian
issues."
Senator
Flores
told
the
senate
that
he
was,
"angry
because
I had
to
learn
of
the
incident
through
a
third
rate
newspaper."
He
went
on
to
say
that
there
was
an
invention
by
Alexander
Graham
Bell
that
could
have
been
used.
Towle
did
not
raise
his
hand
to
speak
at
the
meeting.
The
meeting
on
Friday,
Nov.
19
will
decide
if
there
will
be
an
impeachment
process.
That
is
because
there
were
not
enough
members
present
on
the
meet-
ing
of
Nov.
12
to
vote.
· Following
the
meeting,
Towle
spoke
with
the
Ranger.
Towle
I
believed
that
two
weeks
of
non-
voting
privileges
were
enough
punishment
for
his
action.
"I
do
feel
remorse.
It's
cost
me
sever-
al large
headaches.
In
retro-
spect,
I would
not
have
done
what
I did.
I've
gotten
a bit
of
flack
from
students.
One
of
my
professors
teases
me
about
it.
They
[the
senate]
will
try
again
next
Friday
[the
19th]
to
impeach
me.
I think
it'll
fail
because
I have
enough
support
in
the
senate.
Today
they
only
had
6
votes-not
a majority.
I
am
sorry
for
what
I did.
If
I
hurt
any
feelings
I'm
sorry
about
that,"
said
Towle,

contest

celebration

the

anniversary

the

Wisconsin-
Parkside.
The
contest,
which
is
open
to
all
full
and
part
time

dents,
will
have
two
cate-
~ories,
poetry
and
prose,
includ-
ing
narrative,
short
fiction
and
essays.
Students
are
asked
to
wrp

their
favorite
arkside

experiences;
topics
can

a

or
class

cerning

politics.

levels

poetry
and
prose

the

to
seek the

chancellor.

Stockwell

Shiela
Kaplan,
UW-Parkside

seven
years,
resigned
to
become
president
of
Metropolitan
State
College
of
Denver.
Stockwell
came
to
UW-
Parkside
in
1988
and
served
as
provost/vice
chancellor.

Bowl
Members
Picked
On

participants

The
UW-
Parkside
is one
of
eleven
compre-
hensive
institutions
in

UW
System,

doctoral

thirteen
freshman-sophomore

and

statewide
Extension
service.
The
Chancellor
of
each
System
institu-
tion
reports
through

UWS
president

1968,

UW-
Parkside
(the
University)

miles
south
of
Milwaukee
and
60
miles
north

Chicago;

Michigan
