As it turned out. he didn't have cancer, but the scare was enough to make him quit. And as for how he feels about other smokers, "I hope their time comes like mine, before they get Into truoble." Another faculty member. who wishes to remain anony- mous, quit two months ago. "I don't want to blow my own hom by saytog I quit." He qull smoking a few years ago, but then slarled up again. "A friend &ald, 'Just have a few puffs,' and wllhln three days I was back to two and a half packs a day." Now he has given up smoking again. He got mad al himself and coughed all the time which was his motivation to attempt quitting again. These are just a couple of the mlllions of people who have quit smoking. If you smoke. give it up for a day on November 17. If you don't smoke. help someone who does.
